Diagnostic ADSL Modem Cards for Test and Measurement Applications

STAND-ALONE & PC BUS APPLICATIONS

Electron Parametrics has designed diagnostic ADSL modem cards and a software programming interface for test and measurement applications.

These cards and software are suited to such applications as: -

bulletApproval Testing
bulletProduction Testing
bulletRepair Testing
bulletLine/Installation Testing
bulletEvaluation of ADSL Technology

Both ATU-C - Central Office end and ATU-R - Customer end are available to provide the latest technology and widest degree of interoperability, not only for use as calibrated reference modems, but also to provide sophisticated signal generation and measurement functions.

For other turnkey requirements, we can integrate the X-600 ADSL/PSTN artificial line and a variety of PSTN Exchange and Measurement products, together with the ADSL modem cards, to produce particular test solutions for ADSL/PSTN testing.

Features of the Diagnostic Measurement Cards

The ATU-C & ATU-R provide the following capabilities: -

bulletCompatible with ANSI T1.413 Issue2, ITU G.992.1 (G.dmt) & ITU G.992.2 (G.lite).
bulletInteroperable with major ADSL chipset vendors.
bulletCalibrated Generation and Measurement functions.
bulletManagement and Diagnostics in line with G.997.1
bulletOption for Return Loss and Unbalance about Earth measurements
bulletThe ability via PC API software to :-
  u Configure a modem line
u Retrieve Operational Data, DS and US
u Retrieve Performance Data, DS and US
  u Retrieve Defect Data
u Generate multiple Sinewave and ADSL BIN signals, DS and US*
u Measure received signal spectral power levels, DS and US*
u Carry out in-built** or externally generated BER Test
bulletOption for Return Loss and Unbalance about Earth measurements
*   for generation & measurement in US & DS bands, both the DX-100AC and the DX-100AR are required
** to another compatible ALCATEL chipset

The above plots show just some of the measurements available such as ATU Noise, Individual BIN power levels, Total modem ADSL power spectrum, Sinewave test signals and Bits/BIN
