X-930 Caller ID Option for the X-900 Test Station

X930.jpg (28556 bytes)

The exceptional versatility of the X-900 telecommunications test station is further enhanced by the X-930 Caller ID option. This user-friendly hardware option allows either UK or US formats of Caller ID to be accurately simulated and it confirms Electron Parametrics' philosophy of providing a one-stop solution for the telecommunications, production testing environment.

Key Benefits

Flexibility: For testing to many international standards

User-friendly: Easy and fast in use for maximum productivity

Added Value: Further enhances capability of X-900

Quality: High quality build for reliability and long life

Overview

The hardware is in the form of an external unit and contains a programmable modem and a digital attenuator. Along with the X-900 custom Caller ID software, these give the user precise control over timing, level and data parameters, including the message checksum which may be deliberately altered to simulate an error. The set-up screens of the custom software are laid out in a way which mimics the phases of transmission of a caller ID message.

A particular message format can then be realised by enabling or disabling certain phases of the sequence, for instance the UK format needs no initial ringing burst so this is disabled, but it does need line reversal and an alert tone, both of which are enabled.

The equipment has been proven on Caller ID devices which meet BT Suppliers Information Note 242, the US Bellcore specification and Proprietary Cable TV specifications. Other formats are available on request.
