GX-200 TESTER and EXERCISER for PBX PORTS
The GX-200 tester has the capability not only to exercise multiple Exchange and Terminal ports concurrently, but also to make detailed parametric measurements and provide suitable network signals to a wide range of international specifications. It provides the ability to build highly complex customer defined sequences to enable PBX ports to be stimulated and measured, under normal and abnormal conditions. The initial system provides interface and test facilities for PSTN line ports and telephone terminal ports.
It is presented as a 19" Rack mountable unit consisting of a Power Supply Unit and a PC CPU card with a passive back plane. The back plane is then populated with analogue interface cards. Each card contains a source (line) port and a sink (telephone) port. Multiple cards provide for multi-port testing. Each port provides appropriate feed, load and network tone conditions for the unit under test. Measurement circuitry then assesses both the general operation and the detailed performance of the physical parameters of the tested ports.
The test system is controlled by a command line interface via an RS232 port. (Future extensions are in development to provide other control interfaces such as IEEE or ETHERNET and the provision of a stand-alone mode, complete with Graphical User Interface and flexible test executive facility).
