MDT-100 UNIVERSAL PSTN TEST & MEASUREMENT SYSTEM

The MDT-100 is a laboratory grade, highly configurable tester for Telecom applications. It can provide testing to precise international and client defined test standards, and is suitable for both exchange and terminal type ports.

This test system is distinguished from conventional solutions in that the required test interface circuits and component values are created in software and "manufactured" by a patented generic test interface block. This releases the test designer from fixed or limited-selection test configurations and provides the facility to create unique test circuits and component values by software definition only. The MDT-100 can therefore track test standard changes without the need for hardware upgrades.

The MDT-100 will offer: -
bulletLibrary and user defined test circuits and component values
bulletArbitrary Feed and Load circuits – single-ended, balanced, differential mode and common mode.
bulletVoltage and current measurements - DC, AC, Transient & Spectral analysis to 200KHz
bulletCalculated measurements such as complex impedance, return-loss, etc.
bulletGeneration of small and large signals such as single tones, dual tones, arbitrary waveform, ringing signals, meter pulses.
bulletUser interface for external controls and signalling
bulletUSB interface to controlling PC
bulletCompact size - 350 x 250 x 85 mm (also available for 19" rack mount)

Initial demonstrations starting July 2004.

Future MDT test products will cover non-telecom applications where it is desired to create arbitrary high-power test interfaces.
